How do I become a PixelTalent? We accept applications per e-Mail. Please send us Before-after Zur Zeit erfolgt die Aufnahme neuer Grafiker ausschliesslich per e-Mail. In order to create an offer, you must have registered with PixelTalents and be logged in. Under "My Account" you will find a button labeled "New Offer".Next, choose one of three sections:
- Individual Art: Transform customers' photos into works of art, especially applying a specific style (Pop Art, Retro, and so on).
- Graphic Design: Create customizable templates for customers. These are partially finished designs in which text can be changed or the customers' images can be integrated, such as a flyer template.
- Image Editing: here you can offer photo restoration, image enhancement, montages and all kind of image manipulation
- In "Before-After" samples of before and after images must be uploaded. This type applies primarily to "Individual Art" and "Image Editing"
- For "Customizable Template" only a sample image must be uploaded. This type applies particularly well for "Graphic Design"
All offers will be reviewed by us prior to publication. Please see also the next paragraph. -
How must an offer appear to be published? Two extremely important principles of PixelTalents are inspiration and standardization. With good (before/after) sample images, the customers should always be aware of what can be done with their photos. At the same time, the offer should be as concrete as possible. Therefore, you should avoid using "everything is possible" or "send me your inquiries" in your offers. For those cases, we will soon offer the customer the option of tendering. With such standardization we can make it possible for the customer to obtain his dream image. The Creative avoids the risk of having to submit multiple drafts in advance which the customer may not like and for which he will not pay. In no way do we want to restrict the creativity of the Creatives, which should develop through creation and placement of new offers. What we desire to do is give the Creatives the opportunity to make money quickly and easily by using their skills.
-
May I change an offer once it's made?Yes. Under "My Account" you can edit all of your offers, temporarily disable them or delete them.
-
Must I always be available?Essentially you are only obligated to a delivery if you have accepted an inquiry (Please see Paragraph 6). You can also always reject inquiries. We do ask that you set your status to "Inactive" if you're temporarily unavailable simply so that customers are not disappointed by your having to decline their inquiries. You can also temporarily disable individual offers. All this can be done under "My Account".
-
May I reject a request? You may always reject a request in the event of illness or if the customer provides a photo with which you cannot begin any work. In the event of illness, vacation, etc., we suggest you set your status to "Inactive" In this case, your offers will not be listed until you reset your status back to "Active".
-
What do I do if the source image is unsuitable? The customers' inquiries, with the source image and any requests/comments by the customer will appear under "My Account". You can then decide if the source image is suitable for imaging. Please note also which format the customer wishes for the printing. We check the "technical" resolution of the image, but, depending on the type of photo and processing, it may be that it is blurry or the pixel quality is insufficient. If you reject the image, please inform the customer of the reason. In most cases a replacement image can be found, or any scanning errors can be detected.
-
Am I bound by the purchase order?Yes. If you accept a purchase order, you must upload the result image on PixelTalents within the period specified in your offer. If upon review you determine you cannot achieve the result, please contact us as well as the customer.
-
What happens if I don't deliver on time? Many orders to PixelTalents are intended as gifts. As you can undoubtedly imagine, it is very annoying for customers if they do not receive the result image on time. Therefore compliance with specified turnaround times is very important. Every Creative has a general assessment score as well as a score assessing his reliability. We withdraw points from your reliability score if you exceed the agreed-upon deadline. If you exceed deadlines repeatedly, we may revoke your membership in PixelTalents. Therefore, please ensure that you plan enough time when you accept orders, and if necessary increase the anticipated work time in your offers. A customer cannot help but be pleased if he receives the result earlier than anticipated!
-
In what data format and resolution should I upload my offers? Please use the .JPG format, and make sure that the compression is not excessive. We will inform you about the minimal number of pixels for height and width for the image for each order. These always will depend on the print format that the customer has selected. As a rule, the finished result image should be at least 3600px x 2400px.
-
How and when do I get paid? After an order has been finalized successfully, your fee is credited with us. You can receive payment to a EU bank account or to your PayPal account by clicking on the Payout button in "My Account". The fee will then be transfered to you on the next 1st or 15th of each month. An invoice or credit memo will be generated automatically for each payment, which you can print for your records and for your tax return. For each payment under 50 € a transaction fee of 1 € will be deducted automatically.
-
How is my fee calculated? With each new offer, you decide the price for the work that customers can see on the webpage. In this way, you can offer a "round" price and tailor it appropriately according to the prices of the other Creatives. You will always be able to see your net fee so that you can calculate properly. Please note that fees may apply for processing jobs on the site. You can always be certain that you receive the net fee if you receive the contract.
-
What rights do the customers acquire in work I create? As long as nothing is altered, the customers retain the right to use the work without restriction. This includes alteration and use. You can limit the usage rights in any specific offer. If you want to exclude certain usage rights (such as use by third parties), and are not certain as to the correct wording, we will be happy to assist you further.
-
Do I need a trade license? Please ask your local authorities to find out if you need a trade license. For Germany: No. A trade license is not absolutely necessary because your activity on PixelTalents is as an independent contractor. However, you must declare your revenue with the tax office if it exceeds the yearly allowance in any given year.
-
Must I pay taxes? Please inform you at your local Tax Office when and if you have to pay taxes. For Germany: as soon as your revenue exceeds the yearly allowance, you must pay taxes. If your income from self-employed work totaled more than € 17.500 last year, and this year will exceed € 50.000, you are also required to pay sales tax. Please check and complete this information under "My Account"
-
Is there a specified membership period? You can cancel your membership with PixelTalents at any time without the need to specify a reason. Please send us a short e-mail with your user name. Obviously, you will need to complete any existing orders first.
